Doublethink

In cases where there are serious doubts and questions, the presumption
should be in the favor of life
. - G. W. Bush

How to comprehend the utter hypocrisy of those who loudly support the USA's murderous war in Iraq but then scream about the "right to life" of people like Terri Schiavo? When Ms Schiavo died and the Pope was given a feeding tube, these "pro-lifers" suddenly adopted him as a role model (conveniently forgetting US Evangelists' usual diatribes against the Roman Catholic Church). The hypocrisy is so obvious, so blatantly self-immoliating, that only the cartoon format seems to be able to sum it up properly:

Ted Rall asks what would happen if Terri Schiavo was an Iraqi? - and shows the bloody consequences.

Steve Bell shows the Pope being led towards Heaven by Death (hooded and sceptred), who asks: "What do you mean, am I pro-life?"
