United States troops have prevented a Red Crescent convoy of emergency aid from reaching residents inside the Iraqi city of Fallujah, after allowing it as far as the main hospital.
... Red Crescent spokeswoman Ferdus al-Ibadi says wounded residents inside the battle zone have been forbidden from entering the fully equipped facility while US forces stopped the aid convoy from reaching them.
The US military was not immediately available for comment...
Civilians hiding in Fallujah, where US and Iraqi troops have clashed with rebels since Monday, are dying of starvation and thirst and something must be done to help them, Ms Ibadi said.
