Mayday: Bring Out The Xenophobes!

When all else fails, right-wing hate-mongers ALWAYS turn to racism. This crap comes from Mark Steyn, a neo-con who somewhat prematurely declared the US democratization of Iraq a fait accompli:
Whatever the Americans got wrong, they got one big thing right - that, if you persevered, Iraq had the potential to function as a free society in a part of the world where no such thing has ever existed.
As well as typical right-wing publications like the UK Telegraph, Washington Times and Murdoch's Australian, Steyn contibutes anti-Arab stories to Jewish World Review:
As one is always obliged to explain when tiptoeing around this territory, I'm not a racist, only a culturist. I believe Western culture -- rule of law, universal suffrage, etc. -- is preferable to Arab culture: that's why there are millions of Muslims in Scandinavia, and four Scandinavians in Syria.
More background on Steyn here:
He is ethnically Jewish, was baptized in the Catholic Church, was confirmed as an Anglican, and today attends an American Baptist church...

His main source of income is the Hollinger chain, a worldwide media conglomerate run, until recently, by Conrad Black...

Mark Steyn has carved out a nice little spot for himself within the world of right-wing punditry. He earned it not on the strength of his arguments or the accuracy of his so-called facts, but, rather, on his cultured, forceful writing style. And, of course, by making the truth serve his purposes, rather than the other way around. Sure, he’s no worse than Rush Limbaugh or Ann Coulter. But he’s no better, either.
