Wolfowitz Gets Whacked

"Interrogation techniques approved by the senior US military commander in Baghdad could violate the Geneva conventions on the treatment of prisoners, the Deputy Secretary of Defence, Paul Wolfowitz, has admitted.

And they are undermining repeated assurances by his boss, the Defence Secretary, Donald Rumsfeld, that the conventions were enforced in Iraq, he agreed."

I saw Wolfowitz on TV last night. These simple admissions had to be dragged out of him. He was cowering and shifting around in his seat like a schoolboy being reprimanded by the principal. So much for the grand architect of US destiny...

Wolfie was being grilled while asking for another $25 billion for his stupid war. Meanwhile his boss, Rumsfeld, was in Iraq proudly telling Abu Ghraib soldiers, "I don't read newspapers anymore!"

Hear no evil, speak no evil... great way to run a country.
