Norman Solomon examines the obstacles blocking efforts to impeach Bush:
"Five months into 2005, the movement to impeach Bush is very small. And three enormous factors weigh against it: 1) Republicans control Congress. 2) Most congressional Democrats are routinely gutless. 3) Big media outlets shun the idea that the president might really be a war criminal.Solomon points readers to a new Web site, www.AfterDowningStreet.org, which describes itself as "a coalition of veterans' groups, peace groups, and political activist groups, which launched on May 26, 2005, a campaign to urge the U.S. Congress to begin a formal investigation into whether President Bush has committed impeachable offenses in connection with the Iraq war."
For now, we can't end the GOP's majority. But we could proceed to light a fire under congressional Democrats. And during the next several weeks, it's possible to have major impacts on news media by launching a massive educational and 'agitational' campaign -- spotlighting the newly leaked Downing Street Memo and explaining why its significance must be pursued as a grave constitutional issue....
In the past, attempts to impeach presidents for war crimes have sunk like a stone in the Potomac. If this time is going to be different, we need to get to work -- organizing around the country -- making the case for a thorough public inquiry and creating a groundswell that emerges as a powerful force from the grassroots. Only a massive movement will be strong enough to push over the media obstacles and drag politicians into a real debate about presidential war crimes and the appropriate constitutional punishment.
And here's an interesting post from the site:
"This is a test of the left-wing blogosphere," said FOX News. "In many ways that memo might prove all of the arguments the critics of the war have made. But the bulk of Americans don't agree, or don't seem that alarmed, so it is a power test to see if they can drive it back on the agenda."Well, folks???
Go take a look. Get active!

As I visited my friend's grave for the first time in 2 years on the 5th anniversany of his death. He died because he worked in the World Trade Center building 2. Since the rescuers found parts of him for a proper burial, I have been to 5 of the 15 funerals to place bone fragments into his coffin (his wife did not tell everyone evrey time the rescuers found bone fragments because it was too much for her and they were coming almost every week or two for the first 8 months after 9/11).
I just don't understand why Iraq, Iran, Syria, Pakistan, and Afganistan haven't been leveled yet. The whole area should be a parking lot by now. That's the only reason why Bush should be ousted. If Iraq/Saddam had nothing to do with terrorists (if you actually read - Bush never said Saddam had anything to do with 9/11 - only he had WMDs and he supported terrorist) why was he paying $25,000 to the families of idiots that blew themselves up? Kuwait invasion, genoside, bio warfare (against his own people no less - like another likeable guy - Stalin - although Saddam only killed a few hundred thousand while Stalin killed tens of millions), mass graves, etc.
I just wish we would go into Iran to settle a score of 444 days. Beruit - the barracks. USS Cole. 3/11. I would say Madirid - but they pulled out early - no balls or conviction. Bali. Of course 9/11 (PA, DC and NY). I keep thinking of how talking saved war so many times with positive results...Hitler in France, JFK and Cuba (Bay of Pigs and the missle crisis), Clinton and North Korea, the Aztecs and Spain, etc.. Or even how the sanctions worked against Saddam - right France and Russia - oh that's right, I forgot, the Useless Nations - I mean the United Nations - is still doing a coverup - I mean inquiry - into this mess.
As for your conspiricy theory and the fact that you actually used Michael Mooore as anything but a side show freak - much less use the crap he puts on film as fact - at least gives me peace of mind that Democrats won't get into power in the near future to screw up anything. There are enough of votes to have them in there, but not enough to win anything.
One final though...back in the 60's - it was said to question everything - what ever happened to that saying? why is it that anyone can put something on print or film and it is now gospel - are people that unsure of themselves that they are too scared to think or question what is put out there? Case in point...you want to railroad Bush and Republicans - why is it that Democrats get a free ride? Iraq was a war for oil - how many US senators own oil stocks? maybe all of them? Look at Kennedy - he's stoppping an offshore wind farm in his own state because " it will blemish the view" - or will it hurt his oil stocks? or does that only apply to Bush? Everyone in Washington has blood on their hands, that's how they got elected. It doesn't matter who is put in there - they are all dirty.
How can you tell if a politician is not telling the truth? Their lips are moving...
