Pray For This Man

Paul M. Johnson Jr., the 49-year-old US citizen who has been seized by Al Quade operatives in Saudi Arabia, has a 72-hour ultimatum on his head. The Washington Post reports that his relatives are now imploring the mass media in a desperate effort to get him freed.

"We just ask that they treat him with dignity and respect," Donna Mayeux said of her brother, during an interview with CNN. "Just please, please don't murder him."

His captors are demanding that Saudi Arabia release Al Quaeda prisoners in exchange for his release. According to the Post, "the group previously claimed a 'legal right' to treat hostages 'the same way they treat our people' in a reference to the abuse of Iraqi prisoners by U.S. troops.

The Post also says that "Johnson's 67-year-old mother, who is ailing, lives with Johnson's brother in a trailer park in nearby Stafford Township"

What a tragedy that people like this must pay for the mistakes of rich, powerful and morally bankrupt people like Bush. How sad that many of the soldiers who are dying in Iraq are similarly classified in the USA as "trailer-park trash", young, uneducated and impovershed folk, too simple or too good-hearted or too stupid to know tht they are dying for a massive, repugnant LIE.
