Mr Crooke has told ABC 1's Stateline program he supports a calm consideration of the broader issues.
"As time has passed the relationship between politicians and business people has developed," he said.
"It may have developed in a completely acceptable way in many instances.
"There may be instances where it does need close scrutiny and it would be a good idea to look at what are the proper boundaries and areas of regulation that are needed."

I didn't see the use of the "F" word -- fascism -- in that story. Isn't that what they call it when the interests of business and government are the same thing? Like when a certain skeletal rock 'n' roll has-been approves new uranium mines because the "Labor" Party is more interested in protecting profits than the planet?
And the "protective custody" prison thing... Yeah, right, this pollie is going to be a marked man, like he was a cop thrown behind bars. The nuttal of the truth is that the blackguard doesn't want to rub elbows with common crims, so he'll be put in some slammer that caters to skeeving accountants, limp-dicked kiddy fiddlers and the like. No Chopper Reid in the next cell for him!
You didn't see the word but it was there!! :-)
It's funny. In the old Communist countries, the State is slowly consuming business, even as it allows business to flourish.
In the Western world, it's the other way round: business is slowly consuming government.
The results seem much the same.
