Howard's Election Plan?

Could it be that the almighty John Howard, having brought a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) down from the mountain of international diplomacy to the eternally grateful people of Australia, might find his wondrous gift blocked - by his good friends in the USA - because the horrid Labour Opposition got a bit too greedy?

If so, we could hardly blame our friends in the US Senate and Congress, who approved the bare-bones FTA with a strangely minimalistic debate, could we? No-o-o!!! As Howard is already saying, Labor is to blame if the FTA is jeopardised.
