Kerry Seeks Energy Independence

I'm still no big fan of Skull-and-Bonesman John Kerry, but this is the best news I've heard in some time.

Kerry has proposed a 10-year, $30 billion proposal to move the USA toward energy independence. It's evidently going to be marketed as "20/20 Vision" - the proposal has twin goals "to have, by the year 2020, an even 20 percent of the nation's motor fuel and electricity come from alternative sources such as solar, wind, ethanol and biodiesel fuel."

And the move will be paid for by companies that pollute. An excellent idea, and with oil prices heading towards $50/gallon, well overdue. Will the US public embrace it? Will the oil companies throw fits and pledge another $200 million to Bush's campaign? Is this just a trick to try to give Dick Cheney a heart attack? Stay tooned....!
