A Damn Good Question

Maybe the Killian memos are authentic after all. Despite all the heated controversy, CBS news is standing by its story and demonstrating that the memos could have been produced on a 1972 typewriter.

But more importantly, star reporter Dan Rather said the network 'asked the White House today to answer a number of questions,' including 'Did Lt. Bush refuse an order to take a required physical?'

Since that is really the main issue at the heart of these memos - did Bush refuse a direct order, and if so, why? - it's a damn good question. Not surprisingly, CBS has yet to receive a proper response from the White House.
