Josh Marshall looks at how people sporting the wrong T-shirts or bumper stickers are being thrown out of Bush's Social Security roadshow events and says such public forums are no place for Bush's thought police:
During the presidential campaign, this sort of behavior may have been just embarrassing — after all those were private, campaign-funded events. And, as Marshall says, so far they can, and they have, and they will keep doing it... until and unless YOU stop them.
But these events are taxpayer-funded public forums. So it really amounts to a violation of people’s constitutional rights....
This is White House policy - to ban American citizens from taxpayer-funded public forums on the basis of their political beliefs. They're doing it because they think they can get away with it.
