I have heard rumblings that the Japan-U.S. security system is about to enter a phase of closer military cooperation under the shared value of democracy. This is worrisome.This comes at a time when Henry Kissinger is worried about a Japan armed with nukes.
The United States tends to resort to war under the banner of democracy. Japan still cannot shake off its past. I urge you to frankly talk about such inclinations during your last summit meeting with Bush. Do not make what the cynics say true: that the Bush-Koizumi friendship is only about forgiving each other for your shortcomings.
