Is Blair Trying To Come Clean?

Blair admits graves claim 'untrue':

Tony Blair, 20 November, 2003: 'We've already discovered, just so far, the remains of 400,000 people in mass graves.'

Tony Blair, 14 December, 2003: 'The remains of 400,000 human beings [have] already [been] found in mass graves.'

Blair's office now admits that only 5,000 bodies have so far been discovered. So where and hwo did he get the 400,000 figure?

Maybe blair thinks that by admitting the intelligence failures he can put Iraq behind him and "move on" before the next election? But these atrocious lies are grounds for criminal indictment! Resignation should be only the first step.
