Katherine Harris, Political Prostitute Supreme

Bill Berkowitz at AlterNet reveals that Katherine Harris, the controversial figure from Florida's Election 2000, is either spreading whoppers for Bush-Cheney '04, or releasing classified information.

Harris told a Bush election rally crowd that the Bush administration had thwarted over 100 terrorist plots. She also claimed that "a plot existed to blow up the power grid in Carmel, Indiana."

Neither of these claims is true, or if they are true, they have not been de-classified.

Berkowitz sarcastically wonders: "Will Attorney General Ashcroft unleash the investigatory powers of his office and get to the bottom of the Harris revelations?"

Just as importantly, will the mainstream media pick up on this story? CBS ran a piece 4 days ago but nobody else has touched it.
