Come On A Journey With Me...

Yeah, it's an important election.

As a BBC analyst says, this is the first election of the post-9/11 United States. It is a referendum on America's biggest military engagement since Vietnam and America's role in the world. For the losing party, it could signal major changes. Oh, and "it's only going to decide the future of the free world."

Early voting has just begun in Florida and a dozen other states and - not surprisingly - problems have already begun, including computer failures and long lines as unexpectedly large numbers (mostly Democrats) queue to avoid using voting machines that leave no paper trail. Meanwhile, in Texas, the Supreme court is playing for time they haven't got by refusing to rule on an appeal against unfair re-zoning of electoral boundaries.

In other news today, US forces in Iraq are "negotiating" with insurgents in Falluja by imprisoning the Iraqi negotiator, letting him go free, then threatening to imprison him again. I guess he is lucky - at least he is not becoming "collateral damage" in the longest bombing campaign since the fall of Baghdad.

Then there is the continuing fallout from the administrative chaos that created today's Iraqi debacle. A leaked letter from General Sanchez shows he pleaded for more troops and spare parts, while details emerge of the massive bribes ($9.5 billion in deals for Poland, a $4 billion teaser for Turkey) that were paid to entice unwilling nations into Bush's "coalition".

But that's just today's news, bad as it is. And this election is too important to be decided on the issues of a single day, or even the coming two weeks until November 2nd. Like I said, this is BIG.

Personally, I have been waking up to bad news just about every single day for the past year and a half, ever since I started doing this blog. I mean day after day, checking out the news and always - always - finding more shocking stories to digest.

I began by being disgusted with the illegal and totally unjustified invasion of Iraq - much as I wanted Saddam removed by the UN - but I ended up learning a whole hell of a lot about politics and the machinations of the Bush cabal.

And what else can you call them but a cabal - it's not just Bush, or even just his opportunistic, self-serving family, it's an entire network of interested parties, from the big industralists to the religious nutters to the ideologues to the military services providers like Halliburton to the small-time GOP operatives across the USA to the dictatorial international "allies" like Mussharaf who are just along for the ride while it lasts. But at the core of this group, pulling the strings and handing out the sweets, is a tight little cabal including Rove, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Feith and others.

When I first started this blog, I was very dismissive of "Conspiracy Theories". Nobody wants to be caught out supporting a lie, and I thought the integrity of my blog would suffer if I even linked to these crazy stories about ex-Nazis, global empires and ritualistic secret societies. Surely it's not THAT bad, I thought...

But if you read all the posts in this blog, you will realise that it IS that bad. The Bush cabal has a history and you can trace it back through spy networks and business deals to the post-Nixon committees, the JFK assassination (watch out, Kerry!), the rise of Hitler (financed largely by US businessmen) and the creation of the CIA under former Nazi go-between Allen Dulles.

Sorry, but it really is that bad.

If you don't believe me, go through the archives here and decide for yourself. But at least give it time and thought. I don't want to sound too melodramatic, but the future of the free world really is at stake.
