Call me a cynic...

... but with Bush's popularity at lows many never would have imagined, with people grumbling about the record prices for gas, isn't it a bit strange that a new Al Quaeda tape suddenly appears? And isn't it strange that the guy on the tape is, like, TOTALLY American? And isn't is a bit strange that one of the cities mentioned is LA, and then in the following days the city of LA loses power for over half an hour in the middle of the day? Of course, it was just a line overload...

The other city specifically mentioned was Melbourne, Australia. John Howard's pro-Bush Australian government has been coming under fire for misleading the public on the financial solvency of the public phone company, Telstra, which his government has been trying to sell for years (against the wishes of the public). So it's good timing here too.

Remember, the last Al Quaeda video featured an Aussie, and those London bombers were Brits... is there a pattern here? CIA PsyOps? Anyone?

I know, I know: "CONSPIRACY THEORY!" But ya gotta think for yerself in these dark times.

To be honest, last time I mentioned these power losses (there have been an increasing number of them in recent years) it was with the thought that they could be terrorist attacks that the government is hiding... So go figure. Maybe I do need a tin hat...?
