RELEASE ALL THE DETAINEES NOW

Revelations by the British Guantanamo Bay detainees indicate the USA is guilty of the most attrocious violations of human rights. And this from a country which presumes to lecture the rest ofthe world on morality????!!!

As ABC Online reports:

"Three Britons released from the Guantanamo Bay detention centre say they were regularly beaten while in US custody, backing similar allegations by two other British detainees.

Asif Iqbal, Ruhal Ahmed and Shafiq Rasul, friends from the town of Tipton in central England, say they were regularly mistreated from the moment they were handed over to US forces in Afghanistan in late 2001. "

The Bush administration must release all remaining prisoners in Guantanamo now. If they have charges against any of them, let them charge them and pursue the cases outside the US military system. After all, these people - some as young as 16 - have already been detained for up to 2 years or more.

Maybe Bush will be able to point to the release of the detainees, and his huge compensation payouts to those found not guilty, when he pleads his own case before an international criminal court.
