Or do you just learn to live with the rats in your kitchen?
David Corn says the George W. Bush presidency has been "one long rehab session" for the Iran-contra scoundrels of the Reagan-Bush administration. Among the resurrected demons from Reagan days are Elliott Abrams, John Poindexter, John Negroponte, Otto Reich... and now James Steele.
70,000 people, mostly civilians, were killed by the US-backed El Salvador military and its death-squad allies. Steel helped train the death squads and then he lied to Congress about it. His silence helped protect George H.W. Bush (then VP and running for Prez).
I'm not the only getting sick of this endless criminal behaviour. As Chris Floyd writes:
An occupational hazard of dissidence in the Age of Bush is the unavoidable necessity of belaboring the obvious. Again and again, you must ring the same bell; over and over, you must repeat the same blatant fact: that George W. Bush and his minions are lying hypocrites with blood on their hands.
But what can you do? Each week -- each day -- brings fresh confirmation of this damning truth. And until the American people redeem their lost national honor by rising up in their millions -- taking to the streets with the patriotic cry, "These murderous jackals no longer represent us!" -- the Bush crimes will go on, and must be documented. So grab the bell-rope: Here we go again...
