According to ABC News Online:

"The Federal Opposition has stepped up its attack on the man the Government has chosen to head an independent inquiry into the pre-war intelligence on Iraq.

Labor claims it has more evidence that Philip Flood is unsuitable for the job. Mr Flood was the director-general of the intelligence agency the Office of National Assessments (ONA) under the Keating Government.

Labor Senator John Faulkner claims that in that role 'he'd put an axe through ONA's WMD assessment capability,' the same area, Labor says, that was criticised in a recent Parliamentary report on pre-war intelligence.

Defence Minister Robert Hill told the Senate he was not aware of the claim."

How's that? The Defence Ministor is not aware of the background of the man appointed to such a sensitive position? Ridiculous!
