American accused of working with Saddam:

"A former US congressional aide has been charged with working with the Iraqi intelligence service before last year's invasion.

Investigators said she had tried to influence US policy towards Iraq by presenting herself as an intermediary to a highly placed relative, Andrew Card, the White House chief of staff.

Prosecutors said Susan Lindauer, 40, who was arrested in Maryland on Thursday, had often met Iraqi agents starting in 1999, and had visited Baghdad in 2002 to meet intelligence officials.
As she was led away from an FBI office outside Baltimore, Lindauer described herself as an anti-war activist and said she was innocent. 'I did more to stop terrorism in this country than anybody else,' she said."

Anti-war.com has some very interesting background on MS Lindauer. This is a story with "legs"...
