"Democratic presidential frontrunner John Kerry said on Tuesday that President Bush had called to congratulate him on his success in the 'Super Tuesday' nominating contests.

'We had a very nice conversation,' the Massachusetts senator said. 'He called to congratulate me.'

Kerry gave no other details on what Bush said but told reporters: 'I said I hoped we had a great debate about the issues before the country.' "
