US postpones auto summit on fuel saving because he is rushing to post soldiers on the Mexican border:
he White House has postponed a summit between US auto company executives and President George W Bush on fuel saving technology and other issues that was expected on Thursday, officials said.
The chief executives of Ford Motor Co, General Motors Corp and Chrysler Group, the North American unit of DaimlerChrysler, had planned to attend.
But the White House said Bush would be travelling to promote his border security proposals, so the meeting would not take place as planned.
