Bush Isn't The Only One Who Doesn't Read Newspapers

A new CBS/NYT Poll shows the US public continues to grow more critical of the war in Iraq. "For the first time, a majority of Americans (51 percent) say the U.S. should have stayed out of Iraq."

Call me a pessimist, but I think the poll is more worrying for the large minorities that still support Bush's mad adventures despite all the evidence against him. 45 percent say going to war was the right thing to do. Thirty-three percent still think it's OK for the U.S. to launch pre-emptive strikes on other countries.

And Iraq seems to be dropping off the US TV screens:

"Thirty-four percent of Americans think Iraqis are safer now than an interim government is in place. Another 12 percent believe Iraqis are less safe, while 48 percent don't see any change."
