As we head towards 2006 elections, it's worth keeping an eye on www.BlackBoxVoting.org. For example:
In a webcast conference call this morning, Diebold stated positive expectations for its elections division in 2006.
The firm made no mention of the pending California decision on whether to certify its voting systems in 2006 -- a decision which will be announced shortly. It made no mention of the pending review of its voting machine "AccuBasic" code and the "interpreter" by federal testing authorities. Neither Diebold nor any of the participants in the conference call mentioned the pending stockholder lawsuit, triggered by alleged failure to properly address quality issues in its voting machine product line.
