A New Dawn?

Wow. A lot to digest this morning. Hey, RUMMY HAS GONE!!! WHOO HOO!!!
In brief remarks, Rumsfeld described the Iraq conflict as a "little understood, unfamiliar war" that is "complex for people to comprehend"...

The timing of Rumsfeld's departure was unclear. Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman said Rumsfeld was not leaving immediately.
And it seems the GOP may concede Virginia rather than risk a lengthy recount in which election-day shennanigans would surely come to the fore.
Democrats accused Republicans of conducting a last-minute operation aimed at preventing voters in Virginia from reaching the polls.

Officials in Virginia said the FBI was investigating phone calls targeting Democratic areas. A recording of one call, posted on YouTube.com, captured a man's voice telling the recipient that he would be "charged criminally" if he showed up to vote.
The Dems are ahead by 7,000 votes now anyway. So the Senate could be in their hands! Wow.

TPMmuckraker's tribute to the GOP fallen is worth a read, if only for gloating purposes.
